Little J.J. just got a new favorite sentence and he has been trying it in various occasions relentlessly.
One day, he came home from Summer camp with big brother A.J. and looked very tired. He just sat there quietly while A.J. talked about all the things they did in Sports Camp.
A.J. went on and on, and finally was about to take a break from the talking. Just then, J.J. said, "Gee, what's the point ?"
I never heard him saying that before, so I asked him,
"J.J. what did you say ?"
Little J.J. is curious why mommy always has to go to work.
I explained to him that I need to work to make money for things like food and toys, cars etc. Having teleconf at night is also work.
J.J. seems to understand that and always very cooperative when I have to have teleconf in the evening.
One night, I have to tell J.J. to go outside to play so that I can have teleconf in home office. J.J. left quickly, but came back to check on me every few minutes.
"Do you need anything, sweetie ?" I asked him.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom
J.J. was about one-year old and had to go to full-time daycare.
He fought it as hard as he could by crying as if the sky is falling. He cried so hard every day at dropoff that made his daycare teachers turned into tears, besides me.
He would cry loud and hard up to an hour and the teachers had to take him out of the baby room for a stroll outside. He wouldn't give up crying until used up all his energy, exhausted and fell into sleep. He did this every day and for more than a month.
Had a reorg at work again and got a new boss.
Coincidently my laptop computer hard drive died that Monday and had to get a new one too.
Then one of my colleagues made the comment:
Did your hard drive crash every time you get a new director ?
Good question, maybe it should. The crash definitely forces a new beginning, a completely fresh start with no historic data.
In fact, in my professional life over 8+years, on average every year I get a new boss.
Good that my hard drive lasts much longer than one year on average so far .
Sunday dinner time, Little J.J. suddenly said to Mommy,
"Mommy, I will always love you."
"Thank you, Sweetie, me too" This little guy really has a sweet tongue.
"Do you know why you love me ?" I didn't expect that question.
"Why ? what do you think ?" I asked him.
"I know, mommy, because I am special" said J.J.
He then started to sing a song,
Special, Special, Special me
I am Special as I Can be
Special, Special, Special me
It was a very busy day. I managed to sneak out of meetings at 4pm to take the two boys to Dental check-up. On the way to doctor's office, little J.J and A.J. started to talk about Doctors.
"Dentist are not real doctors, right?" J.J. asked.
"No, they are not. Real Doctors always check your heartbeat first, and your temperature, to see how sick you are to start with" A.J. answered very firmly.
"Yeah, Dentists just work on teeth stuff" J.J. agreed.
A.J. was about two years old. He got interested in trying on Grandpa and Dad's big shoes.
One day after dinner, he started to try on everyone else's big shoes again and walk round in the house and had a lot of fun.
Then he walked in kitchen giggling,
"Look, Look at me, Mommy" still smiling.
"What's up ? Buddy " Said mommy.
"Look, my shoes look funny, they made turns" Said little A.J.
I took a look at his shoes, they look funny indeed.
The shoes were put on the wrong feet.
Little J.J. started to learn math and likes to play with big brother A.J. on math games.
One day, while they are both in bath tube and covered with bubbles, a new game started.
"How old was you when I was just a baby, A.J. ?" J.J. asked.
"I was three when you were born" A.J. answered.
"I will be five in Sep, so you will be eight then" J.J. figured.
"Yes, when you are 10, and I will be 13, I will be always ahead of you" A.J. said proudly.
"Ok, How old will you be when I am 100 ?" J.J. asked.
One Sunday, 5-year-old J.J. learned that Mom was not feeling well and immediately said,
"Mommy, don't worry, me, A.J. and Dad will take care of you."
"Thank you, Sweetie. " I was a little surprised.
"Do you know how to take care of Mommy ?"
"Yes, I know, I will cook some food for you" J.J. was very confident.
"Really, what are you going to cook ?" I was very curious.
"That is easy, Mommy, I will cook you some healthy food, so you will feel better very soon"
Saturday night, Little J.J. feel relieved after he confirmed with Mommy that there is no school tomorrow the next day, Sunday. He doesn't have to get up early then. He is very happy about that.
Then he thought about his favorite game figure super Mario and said,
"Mommy, Super Mario does not have to go to school, even Monday through Friday."
"Why is so ?" Mommy asked.
"Becaused he lives in outer space, not in United States, Mommy"
"Are you sure ?" Mommy asked.
It is the first day of a new year, year 2008.
Spent the whole Christmas week with family and friends in Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Coming back with full loads of magic and two over excited little guys.
Almost lost my voice again as in the first visit to Disney more than ten years ago. After all, seeing magic in display makes you believe anything is possible as long as you believe magic in your heart.
The magic words still carved in my mind,
"It is a Magic world"
"Follow your heart"
It is holiday season again.
Browsed through online shopping sites, didn't find any hot items to feed the desire to go to the mall. But after a stressful week, I feel I need a little retail therapy. Here I went for a little window shopping.
Didn't plan to buy anything, yet came home with some nice surprises.
Looking ahead of the cold and gray winter, a little fresh color feels like a fresh breeze sweeping away the cold air from my mind and heart. I got two bright pink handbags from Ralph Lauren :-).
A.J. and J.J. are crazy about Super Mario DS games these days.
Sunday morning, A.J. and J.J. woke up earlier than usual and announced their big decision.
"Mommy, starting from today, I will be Mario at home, you call me Mario, Ok ? "
"Are you sure ?" I asked, "what about you, J.J. ?"
"I will be Yoshi, mommy, call me Yoshi, Ok?"
"Ok, if you guys like that" I tried to hold off my laughs.
Little J.J. is curious about everything, including how mommy does cooking.
One Sunday noon, mommy was trying to prepare some quick lunch for the two hungary boys awaiting. J.J. asked,
"Mommy, what are you going to make for us?"
"Probably some sandwiches. You like sandwich with ham, right ?"
"Sandwiches ? I can make them, Mommy."
"Are you sure about that ?"
"Oh, yes, Mommy, I am a maker now, just watch me"
J.J. moved over a high stool and climbed on it, and started to make his sandwich.
J.J. is only in preschool, he talks just like a little American.
He can talk non-stop on any question or any subject. It dosn't matter whether he knows anything about it or not.
One sunday morning, J.J. is a little bored in the house, everyone is kind of quiet and busy with something.
Then J.J. started to talk, "Does anyone has a question for me ?"
"You can ask me anything, anytime"
"What do you want to talk about ?" I asked.
It was finally Halloween. A.J. and J.J. had been waiting for it for quite a few weeks.
It was a very productive one. A.J.'s candy count officially goes as 69, all big chocolate bars. J.J.'s maybe even more, more than he can count at this point.
This year, A.J. is the Superman in red and blue and J.J. is the bright yellow and blue X-man, and with strong muscle look.
I commented on how much I liked their costumes.
Then J.J. asked, "Mommy, why don't you wear a costume ?"
I always schedule my haircut appointments late in the day if in weekdays.
Yesterday I went to visit my hairdresser, and he asked why only the late schedule works for me.
I told him it is because I would feel bad if taking away too much work time.
Then my hairdresser said,
"You shouldn't feel bad about that. You know why ?"
"Beause your hair grow in work time, so you have the right to cut it in work time"
Good argument, I like that .
In southern China, people call kids little butt as nick names like sweetie or sweetheart.
I thought that was cute.
One day in bath time, A.J. and J.J. were having a lot of water fun and I made the comments,
"A.J .and J.J., you guys are little butts"
"No, mommy, I am not a little butt" J.J. immediately shut back.
"What are you then ?" I asked.
"I am a medium butt, A.J. is too"
"You can call us medium butts, but not small butts, mommy" said J.J.
A.J. was three and a half years old and it was Mother's Day.
Just like on Father's day, all the kids get to answer two questions,
"How old is your mom?"
"What does your mom do ?"
At the end of the day, there is an answer sheet from the class given to all parents.
I looked at the sheet, A.J.'s answer to the 1st question surprised me ,
"My mom is 6 years old"
Come on, I've got to be older than that, although have to give him credit for doubling his age to be mine.
A.J. was about 3 and a half and it was Father's day.
In his preschool class, all the kids were asked to answer two questions,
"How old is your Dad?" "What does your Dad do?"
At the end of day, the answer sheet was given to all parents.
I took a close look at the answers, and found some very interesting ones.
A.J.'s answer to the first question was listed on the top of answer sheet,
"My dad is 100 years old" The teachers must be in shock.
100 was the highest number he could count up to.
A.J. was 4 years old and we went to visit a private school for kindergarten.
At the entrance, everyone was asked to put on a name tag.
" I can do it, mommy. I can write the name tag for you" A.J. offered.
"Ok, sweetie, you do it then" I was very proud.
In a minute, after puting on his own, A.J. handed me a name tag.
On it, there are three letters beautifully written, M-o-m.
I liked that name tag and wore it very happily .
One day, on the way to school, J.J. asked,
"Mommy, do you know how many ways I can call you and which one is my favorite ? "
"No, I don't, please tell me" I was a little surprised.
"Look, I can call you Mommy, Mom, Mama and Mother" said J.J.
"which one is your favorite then ?" I asked.
"Hmmm, it depends. Let me think about it, for this week'' said J.J.
After a moment, J.J. announced,
Little J.J. can talk non-stoppably when he is happy and not tired.
After he moved up to the new pre-school classroom, his teachers immediately realized that. So everyday before group time, the teacher will remind J.J. and other kids that no talking is allowed in story time.
Little J.J. listened and did well being a silent listener most of the days.
One day, the story time is little longer than usual. J.J. held his talk back patiently during the group time.
Little J.J. loves chocolate cookies.
One day over dinner time, J.J. comments on how much he liked the chocolate cookies we bought over the weekend and now they are all gone.
"Mommy, next time we go to the store, can we buy all the chocolate cookies in the store, so we will never run out of them in our house ?" asked J.J.
I smiled back, "If we buy all the cookies, what about other kids ? they will be sad when they go to the store"
