John McCain tapped little-known Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his
vice presidential running mate on Friday in a startling selection on

Sunday, returning to the small two-room house in Mogadishu shared by

这本传记是我07年3月在北京西单图书城的廉价书部分花五圆人民币买来的， 最近才断断续续地读完。 本来没有想要写什么， 然而在读本书的那段时间里， 李女士和梁女士引导和指点我建起了我的博克“最后一个海派”， 梁女士还亲自代劳， 重打了我父亲过世时我的纪念文章，我登时想到正在读的奥尔布赖特传， 特地写下此文， 向她们两位表示谢意。

我们的父亲瞿伟民船长在他83岁生日后的第一天， 2003年圣诞节凌晨零点30分，在明尼苏达州踏上永生之路，他走得又快又稳。家庭告别和纪念仪式于今日正午在位于明州白雪皑皑的湖滨的北郊礼拜堂举行，红白康乃馨玫瑰郁金香和松绿拥绕，父亲显得和平时一样安详宁静。

一个普通人参加哈佛大学2007年毕业典礼的遐想

            我坚定地信奉平民精英化或者说精英平民化， 尤其是在这个伟大的信息时代。 这次应邀去哈佛大学参加毕业庆典， 纯粹是好奇心推动。 俗话说好奇心是所有发明的开端， 好奇心会引出一系列遐想， 没有遐想， 做人就会少了很多乐趣。

35号洲际公路桥的倒塌

            明尼苏达州从来也没有什么全国性的新闻， 8月1日傍晚6点另几分， 其35号交通要道的公路桥突然倒塌到密西西比河中， 于是全国广播， 成为好几天的头条新闻， 并惊动全球媒介。

            那桥在明尼阿波利斯市中心和明尼苏达大学主校区边上， 据说是密西西比河全程中最狭窄的一段。
